The Privacy Wars Are Raging Over Who Owns Your Data
One of the topics I’ll be tracking closely at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos next week will be Big Data. Specifically, how it’s at the center of all the major political and economic stories right now, from the NSA scandals to the disruption of nearly every business model on the planet.
A number of tech leaders, including Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer and Google’s Eric Schmidt will be front and center at the WEF this year. I suspect they’ll be somewhat on the defensive, as consumers and governments are holding them more accountable for what’s being done with everyone’s data. The story of who owns our data, and what they owe us is just beginning.
